Dear wanderer,
I think a proper introduction is in order.
I'm Sara, a Portuguese artist that never grew out of
watching cartoons and animated movies. Growing into
adulthood writing and drawing became my shelter.
In this world of mine, full of misunderstood goblins and faraway lands,
I can exist at my own pace and although imperfectly, it's my opportunity to
tend to my inner child that reminds me to cherish the simplest
of things and embrace boredom with grace.
There is a specific place and time where this journey of mine actually started:
It was during a class on law and economics, I was exhausted from working during the day and attending classes at night.
You would often find me drawing instead of note taking during such classes, but that one time felt like a slap in my face - I kept neglecting my purpose, yet it kept coming back. Unfortunately I didn't choose art, but it chose me.
After that I would arrive home from college or work and
draw with a little potato cat on my lap, Panda (or Paniscas).
He never left my side.
Paniscas now represents living the life I dream of,
my daily reminder that there is no better way to live life than to
venture despite fear,
to try despite failure
and to love despite hurt.
Owning a piece of art is deeply personal
and if you choose to buy my work,
I will be forever grateful.
